Cala Bassa Beach, West Ibiza
Family friendly beach on west coast with lots of watersports to try
Just south of San Antonio is the 300m long white sandy beach of Cala Bassa.
This beach is popular with families as there are plenty of amenities including sunbeds, umbrellas, restaurants, bars and water sports, and it's easy to see why this beach was awarded a Blue Flag, the azure water is crystal clear and the sand is fine and soft. Cala Bassa Beach has consistently held the Blue Flag award since 2007.
There is plenty of parking and the area is surrounded by a pine forest which offers shade if needed.
There is a promenade that stretches along the back of beach which makes access to the far end much easier, especially for wheelchair users and families with young children.
Beach Bars & Beachclubs in Ibiza
One of the most popular places to eat and drink is the Cala Bassa Beach Club, with great service and a stunning setting this is worth a visit.
Setting & Location
Not far from the town of San Antonio you can actually view it across the bay that lies in front of the you.
This pretty and popular beach is situated away from the urban sprawl and despite the luxury of the Cala Bassa Beach Club it actually feels as though you're in a remote setting.
Water Safety & Clarity
The water here really is crystal clear, with seaweed and sea life around the rocky outcrops, but by the beach there is little or no seaweed or rock to negotiate as you make your way into the water.
This is actually the perfect family beach - the waters are super shallow and even those who are not comfortable in the water will be happy to paddle out and enjoy the cooling waves gently rippling over them.
Beach Quality
The sand is white and silky, with not a pebble in sight, and perfect for sand castle building.
Watersports Nearby
Snorkelling, swimming, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, pedalos and much more make this the perfect place for the more active beach-goer.
