Megayachts marina in Ibiza Town
Sovren Marina has berths for yachts over 65m
There is a new marina in Ibiza Town. Sovren Marina is located at the feet of Dalt Vila, in the heart of the city, and offers 16 berths for superyachts from 65m to 185m in length. A new nod to luxury tourism on an island that is becoming a haven for the super-rich.
This is a unique marina in the Mediterranean as it has space for 16 yachts, while the one in Saint Tropez can only accommodate one. It opened on June 7th and has already received some bookings, even if its prices are as large as the vessels it can host, starting at 3.5€ per square metre per night (around 3,000€ per night for a 70-metre yacht and up to 25,000€ per night for the larger ones).
In only 15 minutes, the mega-rich can get from their private jet to the marina which includes concierge service and VIP transfers. Bear in mind that there are not that many private superyachts out there. Film stars and footballers usually rent the boats we see them sunbathing on, and they are usually no longer than 30 metres. Regular visitors of the White Isle who own megayachts include multi-billionaire sheikhs Jalifa bin al Nahayan and Al-Futtain or Russian oligarch Andréis Melnichenko among others.
More inspiration...
For those of us who don't own a superyacht yet, there are some more affordable marinas on the island.
