MTV's 'Shores' Franchise Coming to Ibiza

The incredibly popular 'Shores' franchise which has taken countries like the US and the UK by storm is now set to hit the beautiful white island of Ibiza.

MTV International has confirmed that the Ibiza Shore cast will include faces from Spain's Gandia Shore and Mexico's Acapulco Shore, "plus additional surprise arrivals from Italy and Brazil". In the first co-production between MTV Latin America and MTV South Europe the iconic party island of Ibiza has been chosen to host the series and provide the backdrop of sun, sea and superstar DJ's.

For those of you who have missed out on the current reality TV trend the format of the show will be a group of young party people who are given a home to live in for a period of time. While filming their exploits, the idea behind the show is somewhat reminiscent of the 90's hit TV series The Real World. This scripted reality genre, also includes shows such as The Only Way is Essex, which is currently a real hit in the UK.

Production of the show is set to begin on Ibiza in August.
